"This place is just beyond perfect! The house and gardens and stunning! Everything was spotless and we couldn't have asked for anything more to be provided. Tom and Pam were amazing hosts, young above and beyond what was expected, it felt more like staying with friends. Everything they recommended to us was brilliant The location is just beautiful and whilst you will need a map or sat nav that is not a bad thing. We will definitely look to be staying here again. Thank you x" Gillian
This is the best airbnb ever. Pam and Tom are just amazing: so nice and thoughtful. They made our stay an absolute dream. Always looking after us. We felt in a 5 stars hotel! ;) The house is beautiful, super comfortable and clean..The garden, swimming pool and surroundings are just wonderful. It's a little paradise. We could have stayed there all day! We would highly recommend this place as everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much again. We will definitely come back! X— Clemence, 11 Jul 2018
Le Petit Pible
Le Petit Pible Gite was completed in 2019 following 4 years as a B&B. The self-contained gîte forms part of the former barn and is bright and airy, decorated with a fusion of modern and shabby French chic. The French doors lead out to a private patio where you can relax in the tranquil rural setting taking in the stunning views of the garden, small lake and private swimming pool.
Le Petit Pible is set in a valley near to the village of Montignac-le-Coq. It is surrounded by a stunning landscape often adorned by sunflowers. It has a large private garden and small lake. You can enjoy fresh locally baked croissants for breakfast, taking in the view from the large south facing private patio. Relax with a glass of local wine in the summer sun on the comfortable rattan furniture or enjoy apéros at sunset on the outside dining area.
The 10mx5m swimming pool has a large tiled surround with sunbeds, parasol and chill-out area. The pool has a stepped entrance, a sloping base and a diving board for any budding Olympic divers.
The gîte has been renovated to the highest standard, with a mix of old and new whilst retaining that genuine French feel. The private entrance with double french doors leads into the lounge/ kitchen area. There is a modern kitchen hand built using locally sourced oak. It has a fridge, microwave and conventional oven and induction hob. There is a locally crafted round oak table, built using an old treadle sewing machine. Across the room there are two club chairs for those relaxing moments catching up with your favourite read, taking in the views from the picture window or watching the wall-mounted smart television featuring English, French and German channels. The exposed stone wall and tiled floor and mini home-made stained glass window give this area a cosy French feel.
The bedroom has a very comfortable king-size bed and has a restored chalk-painted mirrored wardrobe, which was originally purchased in Russia by a local resident using her first pay cheque in the 1930s. Further french doors lead from the bedroom to the patio where there are stunning views over the pool, lake, surrounding garden and countryside. There is an ensuite shower room with a large ‘douche italienne’ walk-in shower and has a modern contemporary feel.
Tranquillity and Privacy
The house is situated about 1km from the village of Montignac-le- Coq. The single track road next to the property only serves other local properties so there is virtually no traffic. The house is set in its own grounds and is not overlooked by any other properties. The gîte forms part of the main house where we live but has its own private area, car park and entrance. Guests have access to the whole grounds apart from the private house, and patios. Pool maintenance and gardening may make it necessary for us to be in the area occasionally but we will try to do this when you are out exploring. On very hot days we may use the pool but again we will do this when you are out.
We have France’s nicest and friendliest dog, Jilly the Golden Retriever / Bernese Mountain Dog cross who loves people. She may visit on occasion but if you prefer not to have a visit please let us know. We are in a rural location so it is necessary to have the use of a car/ motorcycle unless you are a very keen cyclist or walker.
